(Hyssop) The wonderfully fragrant foliage of Agastache 'Blue Fortune' is topped with large spikes of violet-blue. Butterflies and hummingbirds love this long flowering beauty. Excellent habit and form. Very tolerant of heat and dry conditions. Prefers well-drained soil. The name originates from the Greek word aga, meaning "very much," and stachys, meaning "spikes," referring to the many flower spikes.

Agastache is native to the southwest US and Mexico. It grows well in slightly alkaline soils. The most essential aspect is good drainage. This plant will NOT tolerate wet soil, especially in the winter. It is naturally heat and drought tolerant. It is cherished by herb gardeners for it scented foliage and edible flowers. Propagation is by stem cuttings or division.
