Eco Friendly Plug

Garden Crossings introduces a new product line for Spring 2008. It is our new Eco Friendly Plants also known as our 65mm Elle Plug. Our Eco Friendly Plants are grown in a biodegradable paper sleeve which is filled with soilless growing media. This paper sleeve will allow air, water and the plants roots to penetrate through it. Our Eco Friendly Plants are easier and faster to plant and are an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastic pots. Our 65mm (millimeter) is equivalent to the standard 3" plastic pots sold by many other mail-order nurseries. We added this new product line in order to beginning trying to reduce the amount of plastic we used each year.

4 1/2 Inch Pot

5 1/2 Inch Pot

Our 5 1/2" square pot is by far our best selling size. We grow all of our clematis, perennials and shrubs in this size. Our 5 1/2" pot has a dry volume of 1.89 quarts or 1.78 liters. This is the size that all of our existing customers are familiar with. We have been growing this size for a number of years now. This size has proven to be an excellent selection when planted directly into the garden or landscape. The plants in this size are all at least two years old. If you are planting a new garden or just adding to an existing one this is an excellent size to select.

10 Inch Pot

Our 10" round pot is one of the larger sizes we grow. We grow some of our perennials and shrubs in this size pot. Our 10" pot has a dry volume of 1.92 gallons or 7.40 liters. This size is meant to offer that instant garden as quickly as possible. This size holds 4 times the soil volume and the plants are usually three years old. We have received many wonderful comments on this size. Remember if you have lost a mature plant in your garden or landscape and need something to replace it and not look out of place, then this size is for you. 

1 Gallon Pot

Our 1 gallon pot, or also known as a #1 pot in some states has a dry volume of 1.0 gallon or 3.78 liters. This size pot has a limited selection of plants grown in it. We do grow some of our Proven Winners® Color Choice® Shrubs in this size. Some of the Proven Winners® Perennials are also grown in this size.  We also grow many of the Proven Winners® Annuls in this size. The annuals grown in this size are meant for center pieces for either baskets or combination plantings. They are the largest size single annual we sell. The annuals grown in this pot will transform that bare space in the garden with vibrant color usually, instantly.
