(False Indigo)
This is an excellent spring flowering plant. It takes a couple of years for Baptisia australis to get established, but once it does it is an excellent garden performer. This perennial resembles a flowering shrub, but it is not since it come back back from the ground each year. This plant was named the 2010 Perennial Plant of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association.
