Clematis 'The Vagabond' Common Name: “Clematis”
(Clematis) Clematis 'The Vagabond' is a newer clematis hybrid with a very compact habit that makes it perfect for containers or a small trellis. The deep purple 6 inch flowers have maroon central bars and prominent creamy white filaments that really stand out against the darker petals. Clematis 'The Vagabond' is a free flowering clematis that blooms profusely in early summer and reblooms in late Summer though Fall. Discovered as a seedling of Clematis 'Red Cardinal'.

Prune Group 2 - Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems. Early flowers appear on the previous season's growth while late summer flowers appear on new growth.
