Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips:
Astrantia prefers rich, consistently moist soil. It grows best in areas where nighttime temperatures are cool. Astrantia will tolerate full sun in cool area otherwise it should be grown in partial shade. Flowering starts in early summer, stops during hot periods and resumes once the temperatures cool in the fall. After flowering, the spent flower stalks should be cut to the ground to prevent self-seeding. Astrantia is propagated by division in the fall or early spring.
