Dryopteris erythrosora 'Brilliance'
Dryopteris 'Brilliance'
See what our great customers had to say about the Dryopteris erythrosora 'Brilliance'.
This is the prettiest fern I have. It arrived happy and healthy, packed so nicely as always with Garden Crossings. It draws the eye nicely, mixed in with my other shade lovers from Garden Crossings (my favorite online store).
(Brilliance Autumn Fern) Dryopteris 'Brilliance' is rapidly becoming one of the most popular garden ferns. Its common name 'Brilliance Autumn Fern' refers to the lustrous orange color of the newly emerging fronds which seem to glow against the backdrop of the shiny, dark green, mature fronds. The sori, which are produced in fall, are bright red. 'Brilliance' is particularly nice when grown in woodland or Japanese gardens. Best leaf color is achieved in part sun.

This fern thrives in neutral to acidic, loose, richly organic soil and part sun. The soil should remain moist but well-drained, though it will tolerate drier soils once it is established. Mulching plants in the winter will help to conserve moisture and keep weeds from taking hold there.
