MARILYN C.'s Review
Location: LAKESIDE, AZ
Hardiness Zone: 6

Hollyhocks are my favorite of flowers! I trade Seeds in order to receive other colors. This one is to die for.I prefer Seeds to plants, I love to watch them grow from Seeds to bloom. Thanks, Marilyn C.

Customer Rating:

(Hollyhock) Alcea 'Crème de Cassis' has tall stalks that are covered with showy 3-4" white edged blooms with scrumptious raspberry centers. This treat gets even sweeter with 'Crème de Cassis' semi-double and single flowers blooming on the same stems! An excellent choice for planting along a fence or at the back of the border.

Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips:

Hollyhocks are a short lived perennial or biennial. They will provide your garden with the old fashion perennial garden look. Hollyhocks are found in many cottage gardens as a background border. Plant in an area where the plant will get a minimum of six hours of sun every day. They may need staking if planted in a windy location. Rich, moist, well-drained soil is essential. Garden pests may include both caterpillars and Japanese beetles. Propagation is by seed.
