I have grown this clematis for four years and love the blooms. Summer of 2009 it did have powdery mildew while I was deployed to Iraq. Upon returning home, I cut it back dramatically. I started growing again and was healthy. Very easily grown and minimal care.

This plant is in mostly shade, and still blooms heavily! The flowers are such a beautiful shade of blue/purple. The only problem I have had is that it was covered in mildew last summer (and this is in arid high desert in AZ mountains) - I plan to move it this spring to a pot in the sunshine. This will be its' 3rd year in my garden - Love it!

I have grown this plant for 3 years. Although it was originally described as a shorter growing clematis, it grows to 8-9 ft after being cut to the ground in late winter. It has consistently been covered in flowers all summer, and has the most beautiful blue-dark purple bells. It is a real focal point in our front garden, and people are always surprised that it is a clematis. Easy and the best!

This is the only Clematis I have found in 25 years that will bloom reliably with limited sun. Limited meaning about 3-4 hours of morning-to-noon, i.e., REALLY limited! In its 3rd year, it bloomed for 3 months -- amazing.... AND it is SO beautiful, delicate and elegant. We grow it right by our kitchen door and see it each time we go outside. A pure joy!

An absolutely fabulous clematis. I have had it for several years now. And it just keeps getting better. Several have asked what type of plant it is, and they are quite surprised when I reply; "it's a Clematis."

I planted this clematis about 5 weeks ago. It has just started flowering and it has the daintiest, purple-blue flowers. I'm sure as the plant matures, the size of the flowers will get larger. This is such an unusual variety of clematis and I love it...especially on my white trellis. I planted a red clematis on the other side of the trellis with the hopes of a red, white and blue theme at maturity! Buy this plant; you won't be disappointed!
