Hosta 'Sum and Substance'
(Hosta) Hosta 'Sum and Substance' is an award winning hosta having 16-inch wide, egg shaped leaves that are ribbed and glossy to provide good slug resistance. 'Sum and Substance' prefers sunlight for ¼ to ¾ of the day, which in turn will vary the color of the leaves from light green to chartreuse to gold. In mid to late summer, songbirds will be attracted to pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers that open on tall 48 inch scapes.
