Ophiopogon n. 'Black Dragon Niger'
Ophiopogon 'Black Dragon Niger'
(Black Mondo Grass) Ophiopogon 'Niger' ( formally called 'Black Dragon') is a dramatic dense growing, clump forming, evergreen, grass like plant. When planted in full sun the grass starts off purplish-green and turns to jet black. In early summer short spikes of purplish-white flowers emerge and in the fall dark berries appear. 'Niger' adds interest to combination planters or plant in masses to add a nice dark ground cover to your gardens.
