Papaver orientale 'Manhattan'
(Oriental Poppy) Papaver 'Manhattan' has luscious lavender-pink flowers which make a spectacular show in early summer. The huge 6" flowers have petals with a satiny texture and resemble crepe paper. The 'Manhattan' flowers have centers with large black blotches that surround the velvety-black seed head and dark purple stamens. After they are done blooming, poppies will go dormant in the summer, so plant other perennials in front or nearby to fill in the summertime gaps in the landscape.
