(Princess Napiergrass) Pennisetum 'Princess' is an exotic new ANNUAL grass from South America. It is hardy to zone 8 but looks spectacular when planted as an accent or container plant in Northern gardens. The saber-shaped leaves emerge narrow, dappled green and purple and become progressively more purple and wider as they mature. 'Princess' is a vigorous grower and usually grows to about 2 feet high, but can grow to 4 feet tall in the deep south. Its most amazing features are its deep burgundy purple foliage and noble structural form in the landscape. Flowers are produced in December in the deep South only.
