(False Spirea) Astilbe 'Radius' is an outstanding new hybrid that starts showing off in the spring when the foliage emerges dark red and then matures to dark green. Astilbe 'Radius' blooms profusely in midsummer when the dark red flowers buds open to deep rose-red plumes that butterflies love. 'Radius' can be grown in full sun or full shade, but prefers a moist to boggy soil which does not dry out in the summer.
