(Heartleaf Brunnera) An amazing find by Steve Lesch, Brunnera 'Diane's Gold'! This golden chartreuse heart leaf Brunnera maintains its color all season long, even in the heat of the summer. The compact height of 12 to 17 inches and a spread of 24 inches make this a great choice for borders, mass or containers. 'Diane's Gold' has tiny blue flowers in the early spring, great early season color. 'Diane's Gold' is a deer resistant variety.
Brunnera 'Daine's Gold' PPAF is a woodland plant that should be grown in shaded areas where the soil is rich and consistently moist. In northern climates, morning sun is acceptable as long as the soil does not dry out. Very little care is needed once Brunnera is established. Old foliage should be cut back in the spring rather than in the fall. The old foliage will help to protect the plant during the winter months. A winter mulch is also recommended. Propagation is by division.
