See what our great customers had to say about the Patricia Ann Fretwell™ Clematis 'B.F. Parfar'
This clematis is stunning! The description indicates red tones in the blooms, but mine has always been shades of pink (fuschia and pale pink). The shape and fullness of the blooms in the photo are similar to those on my vine. This clematis has survived 3 years in a container, many frosts and hail, clematis wilt, and being cut down to the ground a couple of times...yet, every spring, she is reliably covered in big, beautiful blooms. One of my favorites!
(Clematis) Patricia Ann Fretwell™ Clematis is the first double flowering red and pink clematis. The outer tepals are reddish pink, fading to pale pink at the edges, the inner tepals are palest pink with a narrow deep pink stripe. The stamens are creamy-white. The double flowers of Patricia Ann Fretwell™ are on the old wood in May and June followed by single flowers on the new growth in September.
Clematis Prune Group 2 - These cultivars produce early season bloom on the previous season's growth and late season flowers on new growth. Generally, these cultivars are only pruned to shape. In the early spring (February or March), prune them lightly above the first pair of new swollen leaf buds, removing about 12 inches from each shoot. Also remove any dead or weak stems at this time.
