See what our great customers had to say about the Clematis 'Roguchi'
Grew well and had many blooms. No fragrance at all.
I have this plant. The color is great but the problem is that in order to enjoy the blooms I have to stand right next to it... from a few feet away in my kitchen what I see is a dark green vine. The blooms are hardly visible. I wish that weren't the case.
I planted (3) 'Roguchi' Clematis last year... the vine 'seemed' weak - NOT SO! This is a '5-star' plant.
All three climb up a trellis just outside the bedroom window and in full sun. This does appear to be a 'lax' climber but with just a bit of help - this beauty climbs the trellis and becomes a distinctly different clematis in my garden. I love it. And I had no problems with the plant coming back after its 1st winter.
The clematis even withstood a terrible hail storm and is blooming profusely in its 2nd summer.
(Clematis) Clematis 'Roguchi' is a newer Japanese Clematis which features unusual 2" bell shaped flowers of intense, deep blue/purple with lighter blue recurved petals. This lax clinger is very fragrant and free flowering. 'Roguchi' is very long blooming from June thru September.
Clematis Prune Group 3- Varieties within this group flower on the new season's growth; they are often the most vigorous cultivars. Prune all of the main stems back to about 3 feet above the ground in February or March, leaving at least one pair of strong looking buds on each stem. Also remove any dead or weak stems at this time.
