Common Name: “Peony Intersectional”
(Peony-Intersectional ) Paeonia 'Bartzella' a great new cross of the herbaceous garden peony with the woody tree types. 'Bartzella', when mature, is breath taking! The blooms are semi double-double, 6-8" butter yellow in color with a splash of rose purple in the middle. Once established it has been known to produce 80 or more blooms per plant! The sweet fragrance is breath taking, a butterflies dream come true. The strong stems, graced with healthy green foliage similar to that of a tree peony, nicely hold the large blooms upward. No staking is required with 'Bartzella' making this a great choice not only for your gardens but also for landscape design. The Inter sectional peony 'Bartzella' has an increased bloom time due to the new side shoots putting on later blooms. With increased vigor and excellent winter hardiness 'Bartzella' is a great addition to both northern and southern gardens.
