This is one of my favorite shade loving plants. ‘Jack Frost’ PP13,859, with it’s silvery foliage, will brighten up any shaded garden. Old fashion forget-me-not flowers dance above the heart shaped leave in mid spring. Also did you know that the Perennial Plant Association named Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’ PP13,859 as the Perennial Plant of the Year for 2012.

(Heartleaf Brunnera) Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’ is one of the most outstanding foliage perennials. The leaves are frosty silver with fresh green veining, creating a crackling appearance. The heart-shaped leaves shimmer in the light and will brighten any shady area of your landscape. Plant in full to part shade, keep soil moist, and ‘Jack Frost’ will grow 12 to 15 inches tall and wide. For southern locations, ‘Jack Frost’ should be planted in full shade. This is a great groundcover option or container plant, thriving in rich soil. As an added bonus in the spring, soft blue forget-me-not flowers float above the stunning foliage. ‘Jack Frost’ is hardy for zones 3 through 8. In the spring, cut back the old foliage.
