(Hakone Grass) Hakonechloa ‘All Gold’ is a new dwarf form of Japanese forest grass that creates an appealing bright spot in the shady or woodland garden. The bamboo-like leaves are bright gold in part sun and more chartreuse in full shade. In the cooler days of Autumn, the leaves have a reddish inflorescence. The gracefully arching foliage is slightly more upright than the more common Hakonechloa ‘Aureola’. Hakonechloa ‘All Gold’ prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil in part shade. ‘All Gold’ looks spectacular when planted with blue-leaved hostas! In zones 5 and 6, it is best to mulch with fall leaves and trim back in the spring before the new growth emerges.

    Graceful Accent
Gorgeous shot of pure gold in the shade. Tolerates dry conditions. Spreads gently and provides a graceful accent of light. Resistant to deer and slugs.
