(Princess Napiergrass) Pennisetum 'Princess' PP17,728 is an exotic new ANNUAL grass from South America. It is hardy to zone 8 but looks spectacular when planted as an accent or container plant in Northern gardens. The saber-shaped leaves emerge narrow, dappled green and purple and become progressively more purple and wider as they mature. 'Princess' PP17,728  is a vigorous grower and usually grows to about 2 feet high, but can grow to 4 feet tall in the deep south. Its most amazing features are its deep burgundy-purple foliage and noble structural form in the landscape. Flowers are produced in December in the deep South only.
