Description

Details

(Sweet Cherry Tree) Homegrown freshness right at your fingertips. Black Tartarian cherries are scrumptious eaten fresh, frozen, or in preserves. In the spring, crisp, white, fragrant flowers emerge creating a playground for butterflies. In late June early July enjoy Black Tartarian 1 inch deep purple cherries that are dense and juicy. The shiny, deep green leaves create a stunning backdrop for the beautiful fruit. Black Tartarian Cherries are adaptable in most soil locations but prefer well drained sandy-loam mixtures. Plant in direct full sun locations that receive 6-8 hours of light. A soil pH of 6.2- 6.8 is best for proper growth. Black Tartarian is a self-incompatible cherry tree, we recommend planting with 1 other compatible Cherry Tree for proper pollination. Black Tartarian Cherry Trees can grow 15-30 foot tall and wide. We recommend pruning your Cherry Tree in late summer early fall to maintain its proper growth and shape. We recommend removing the vertical stems and promoting outward growth as outward branches produce more fruit. Requires 700 chill hours.
