(Bartlett Pears) Sweet and Juicy is what best describes Bartlett Pears. Bartlett is a fast growing variety and typically grows to 20 foot tall. In the spring, small white flowers emerge emitting a sweet fragrance. Bartlett Pear trees are a great source of nectar for the bees. Bartlett Pears have a rounded bell shaped form and are a golden green in color. Late summer, loads of juicy pears are just waiting to be harvested. Bartlett Pears are adaptable to most soil types that are well drained and a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. A full sun location is recommended receiving at least 6-8 hours of sun. Bartlett Pears are self-pollinating, just one will get you a high yield of fruits. Bartlett Pears grow up to 10 foot tall with an upright habit. We recommend trimming and shaping your tree for the first 2-3 years to encourage better branching and structure. Once a good structure is obtained, we recommend pruning your tree in the late fall to encourage more branching creating more buds. Requires 350 chill hours.
