Description

Details

(Grape) Vitis 'Red Catawba' is a popular red variety that is exceptionally vigorous. Grapes are very easy to grow in most soil types that are well drained, but do like full sun for best performance. Traditionally they are grown on overhead arbors where they can stretch up to 20 feet. Remove the weaker canes to allow the stronger ones to mature faster and give abundant fruit. The 'Red Catawba' Grape has a very sweet taste that makes it ideal to serve fresh on the table or for juice and sweet wine. Grape 'Red Catawba' fruit holds well after being picked. 'Red Catawba' should be pruned back in the winter to control plant size.
