(Ornamental Onion)Add a little whimsy to the garden with Allium ‘Bobblehead’. With just a little breeze the large 3-3 ½ inch sphere-shaped flowers add motion to the landscape. The light lavender flowers are much larger than its predecessor ‘Serendipity’ and blooms earlier. Standing 30-32 inches tall and spreading up to 24 inches wide ‘Bobblehead’ is a very robust plant with blue-green foliage with each leaf having a little ‘twist’. Hardy in zones 4-8, Allium ‘Bobblehead’ likes to be planted in full sun to part sun locations. This drought-tolerant perennial can handle fertile to poor soil conditions once established. Blooming mid-summer into the fall, you will notice the light lavender blooms to be a favorite of pollinators and butterflies. Due to the onion scent of the foliage, deer and rabbits tend to leave this plant alone. Allium ‘Bobblehead’ is a perfect addition to rock gardens, borders, and patio containers.  Plant in mass or as a specimen for weeks of flowering enjoyment. Allium’ Bobblehead’ is a Proven Winners® Perennial.
