(Fern) Athyrium 'Dre's Dagger' adds great texture to your shade gardens. It is a compact and interesting form of Lady Fern that grows to 18 inches high and wide. The unique foliage is a dark green color. Criss-cross pinnae (leaflets) line the frond and form a fringe-like crested tip at the end of each frond. 'Dre's Dagger' is best grown in moist rich soils, and tolerates humidity. If this fern dries out it will go into early dormancy. The red petioles of 'Dre's Dagger' contrast beautifully with the green foliage. 'Dre's Dagger' works great in shade gardens, as a border plant, in a container, or beautiful filler for under pine trees. The foliage is also deer and rabbit resistant.
