(False Indigo) Do you love the flowers that Baptisia bring to the springtime garden, but need something compact? Worry no longer! Baptisia 'Grape Taffy' is a compact False Indigo that stands only 2- 3.5 foot tall and spreads equally as wide. 'Grape Taffy' creates a lush upright mound of bright green foliage that looks like a small shrub from spring through fall. In late spring spikes of grape purple blossoms appear and each is accented with a light yellow keel. When the flowers have aged, black seed pods remain. These may be left or trimmed off. Planted in full sun to part shade locations, this long blooming, native requires little maintenance. Drought tolerant, 'Grape Taffy' has little to average water needs. 'Grape Taffy' attracts butterflies, but is deer resistant!
