(Clematis) Enjoy beauty at higher levels. Clematis ‘Dr. Ruppel’ features 6-8 inch large lilac rose flowers. The petals have bold carmine-red central bars and yellow stamens. Wonderfully free flowering, ‘Dr. Ruppel’ blooms late spring (May/June) and again the end of summer (Aug./Sept.). Standing 6-10 feet tall, this Clematis is well suited for fences or trellises. ‘Dr Ruppel’ is also a great option for cut flower designs. Great for borders, specimens or climbing, ‘Dr Ruppel’ can be grown in the full sun to part shade locations in your garden or landscape. Clematis attract butterflies and hummingbirds, and the attractive spherical seed heads are a great source for hummingbird nests. Clematis are a deer and rabbit resistant variety, and grow in just about any well drained soil condition. We recommend shading the base of the plant with another plant or mulch to protect the roots from the sun.

Flower color may vary due to environment.

I was surprised to get a flower on my baby plant last year, but it was lovely. This year it’s growing fast and has lots of buds. Can’t wait to see them bloom!

  2. Mandie

The colors are so vibrant (even the leaves are beautiful) and the blooms are so eye catching. I absolutely love mine!

  3. Lena

I saw one one of these at a friend’s brother’s house and it was beautiful about a month ago and that’s when I told my girl’s I wanted one for Mother’s Day.

    Very Hardy
Great plant! Blooms heavily in the spring. Very hardy and doesn’t mind the south side of the fence in Memphis, TN.
