(Gentian) Gentiana 'Cross Blue', is a compact true blue (violet/blue) flower. 'Cross Blue' stands 10 inches tall, and is drought tolerant a neat little addition to a rock garden. Blooming from midsummer through the fall, Gentiana 'Cross Blue' is a long blooming perennial to add to your garden. Abundant clusters of small, 4 petaled blooms open at each node bringing color from the top of the plant to the bottom. Planted in full sun to part shade is where Gentiana 'Cross Blue' feels most at home, Gentiana is best suited in cooler climates. Enjoy the flutter of hummingbirds and butterflies as they enjoy the tubular blooms. Plant 'Cross Blue' in dry to average soil, in moist locations you may find it rots. Gentiana is a deer resistant plant.
