(Iris-Louisiana) Award winning Iris ‘Black Gamecock’ is a sun loving perennial that thrives in moist to boggy soil. Native to Louisiana and southern states, ‘Black Gamecock’ produces colossal 4-6" blooms that open flat to display beautiful velvety deep purple flowers with narrow gold signals on each petal. Bloom time ranges from late spring into midsummer usually after both Siberian and Tall Bearded Irises have finished blooming.
