(Lavender) Lavendula 'Grosso' is perhaps the most chosen lavender for use in cosmetics and perfumes due to its incredible heady fragrance. 'Grosso' has attractive blue-green evergreen foliage and boasts particularly large purple flower heads that occur on very long stems from mid to late summer. 'Grosso' can reach up to 3 feet tall which makes it an excellent choice for hedging. Not only do the blooms of Lavendula 'Grosso' make wonderful dried flowers they are a prized nectar source for butterflies and honeybees among other beneficial insects. Place 'Grosso' in a full sun location where you will be able to brush past it and get the most enjoyment from its intoxicating fragrance! It is drought tolerant and is a hardy choice growing well in zones 5-9.
