Details

(Bee Balm) Giving the Bee Balm season an earlier start is 'Leading Lady Orchid'. Enjoy the beautiful blooms of Mondara in the beginning of June ( here in Michigan). The leading lady series blooms up to a month sooner than the M. didyma family. Standing a compact height of only 10-14 inches tall and spreading to 24 inches wide, 'Leading Lady Orchid' makes a great garden border. The orchid pink blooms have light pink tips and deep magenta spotting on the petals. Unlike many other Bee Balm, 'Leading Lady Orchid' behaves nicely in the garden. This North American Native likes to be planted in full sun to part shade locations with consistent well drained soil. Bee Balm is a great pollinator plant that is bee friendly as well as attracts hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden. The fragrant flowers and foliage make for a great cut flower bouquet. Plant in mass or as a border, this deer resistant perennial is sure to please. Monarda 'Leading Lady Orchid' is a Proven Winners® Perennial.
