Details

(Blue Switch Grass) Perennial Plant of the Year in 2104, Panicum Northwind is a beautiful blue native switchgrass. Standing 4-5 foot tall and spreading up to 3 foot wide, Northwind has an upright habit with thick, wide blue leaf blades and is sturdy in the wind. Hardy down to zone 2, Northwind is very adaptable to just about any location. Planted in full sun to part shade, moist to average soil conditions is recommended. Once established Northwind is drought tolerant and is salt resistant. Planted in mass, as a border or specimen watch as Panicum Northwind takes on a beautiful golden yellow color in the fall.
