Description

Details

(Beardtongue) Penstemon 'Dark Towers' is a hybrid from the University of Nebraska that is tough as nails and hardy to zone 3! In midsummer, the plants explode with tall stems of tubular flowers that are deep lavender-rose at the base and lighter pink towards the tips. The deep wine-red foliage brings color to the landscape even when the plants are not in bloom. Standing 33-36 inches tall, 'Dark Towers' forms an upright clumping habit. Grown in full sun, you will notice the butterflies enjoying the tubular flowers. 'Dark Towers' is an outstanding garden plant and noted to have even darker foliage than Penstemon 'Husker's Red'.
