(Grass-Ornamental)Add some vertical interest to your garden or landscape with Schizachyrium 'Smoke Signal' Ornamental Grass. Standing 3-4 foot tall and 1 1/2 - 2 foot wide, 'Smoke Signal' presents a tidy, upright habit. In the spring and summer the blue/green blades have a gray sheen over them, as the summer ends 'Smoke Signal' takes on a deep red color that turns to a deep burgundy purple in the fall. Contrasting with the fall color, tiny tan seed heads emerge. Planted in full sun, 'Smoke Signal' can be a great addition to dry, hard to grow areas as well as in landscapes designs. Looking for erosion control? Schizachyrium 'Smoke Signal' would be a go to variety. - More Info
