(Trillium) One of the welcoming signs of spring is the Trillium. Trillium erectum stands 6-14 inches tall with a bright red tri petaled flower perched 3-4 inches above the deep green foliage. This native Trillium generally blooms from April - June for about 3 weeks depending on where you live. Grown in full shade to part shade, Trillium erectum prefers to be grown in moderate to moist soil conditions that is well drained. This deer resistant variety can be found from the Maine to Michigan and south through the mountains. Trillium erectum is a deer resistant native spring flower.
