Commonly known as Swan River Daisy, Brachyscome is a compact mounded annual with delicate foliage and dainty, daisy-like blooms.  It is closely related to species such as Aster and Cornflower and is native to Australia.  The fragrant flowers of Brachyscome cover the plant in profusion throughout the summer and into fall and its leaves have an herb-like appearance.  Easy to grow, Brachyscome grows best in full sun and well drained soil and can tolerate some drought once established.  It can be used as an edging in the landscape, in rock gardens or in containers.
