Vinca

The bright colorful blooms of Vinca will add a non-stop show to any garden and are a favorite of butterflies.  Vinca are mounding to spreading plants with attractive glossy foliage that are covered profusely with phlox-like blooms from planting to frost.  Typically winter hardy in zones 9-11 where it grows as a woody based perennial, Vinca is considered an annual in more Northern zones.  Vinca is great used in the landscape as a border or edging plant, planted in mass or used in containers.  It prefers and performs best in well-drained soil in a full to part sun location.  Vinca are easy to care for and thrive in hot and humid summer weather.
