Houttuynia

Houttuynia, or better known as, Chameleon plant due to its ability to change colors from green and white variegated to shades of red and yellow dependent on light conditions, is a vigorous ground cover that can tolerate moist to wet, even standing water. Please note that Houttuynia can be invasive, as it spreads through rhizomes, so it is advised to be grown in a restricted area bound by foundation and sidewalk to keep it from overtaking beds and borders. You may also plant it in a large container with minimal drainage and place it into the landscape.
