(Butterfly Bush) When looking for Butterfly Bush, not all are created equal. ‘GRAND CASCADE’ is a stunning addition to the Cascade Collection. Standing 5-6 feet tall and spreading up to 8 feet wide, ‘GRAND CASCADE’ forms a mounding habit with cascading panicles. The gigantic lavender purple blooms can get up to 12-14 inches long and 4 inches wide. The fragrant blooms attract hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden. Butterfly Bush ‘GRAND CASCADE’ is an easy to grow, long blooming shrub and is drought tolerant once established. Planted in full sun, ‘GRAND CASCADE’ starts blooming mid summer and continues into the fall. Hardy in zones 5-10, we have a couple considerations for our northern gardeners. In the North, we recommend not trimming your Butterfly Bush in fall. In the spring, they will take some time to emerge. Look for new growth on the old stems, as well as at the base. If no new growth is noticed on the old stems, we recommend trimming at this point. ‘GRAND CASCADE’ is a plant that will have people talking about its beauty.
