(Sedge) Carex ‘Bowles Golden’ really stands out in the garden, with its dazzling bright gold foliage and narrow green margins. The attractive arching habit and luminous foliage color makes ‘Bowles Golden’ sedge a great companion plant for Heucheras or Hostas in contrasting colors. ‘Bowles Golden’ grows 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, prefers a half day of direct sunlight, and is deer resistant. Hardy for zones 5 to 8. Use as a border, edging, container planting, or as a focal point in your landscape. This variety thrives in consistently moist, rich soil, and can also be grown in shallow water at the edge of a garden pond.

  1. Pam | Zone: 5b

    Electric Color
Bowles Golden is an outstanding grass that is not invasive and perfect near a patio. I planted 7 in Zone 5 to mass near our new stone patio 3 years ago and they are the perfect complement to the hydrangea and June hostas nearby. The color is electric and the form very graceful.
