(Clematis) BLUE LIGHT® Clematis boasts large, fully double 5-6 inch flowers in shades of lavender and blue. Wow! An early season bloomer, BLUE LIGHT® starts to show off in May and June, and you may also see additional blooms later in the summer. A compact grower, climbing 5-8 feet tall, and spreading 3-6 feet wide, BLUE LIGHT® is a nice selection for containers or gardens with the support of a trellis for vertical impact. Ideally BLUE LIGHT® will do best when the vine and blooms are in sun to part shade, and roots are kept shaded, cool and consistently moist. Single and double blooms can occur on old and new growth. BLUE LIGHT® belongs to Prune Group 2, blooming on both old and new wood. Minimal to no pruning required.

Flower color may vary due to environment.

    Covered with Huge Flowers
I’ve had this clematis growing in a large container for 3 years now. It blooms reliably and is literally COVERED with HUGE flowers. Color in website photo is accurate: slightly more blue than periwinkle. The flowers are surprisingly durable, and even look pretty as they decline. It is fascinating to watch the progression as the flower changes from a broad, flat bloom to the textured final flower. It is the first of my clematis to bloom and the last to fade.
