(Texas Sage) Salvia ‘Furman’s Red’ is an extremely long blooming selection that is hardy to zone 5! The crimson to scarlet flowers are produced in repeated flushes from May through October. Hummingbirds love the intense color and will flock to your garden along with butterflies. Salvia ‘Furman’s Red’ is a woody perennial that looks best if cut back and shaped in the spring. This perennial has an upright habit, measuring up to 30″ tall and 15″ wide. When planted in full sun with average soil, ‘Furman’s Red’ is a great addition to your garden when planted in mass, as a border or clump. The branches are somewhat brittle and should be kept away from walkways.
