(Lambs Ear) Stachys ‘Hummelo’ has sturdy rosy-lavender spikes that sit above the foliage, and makes an impressive display in midsummer. Unlike the more common types of Stachys, which have soft silvery foliage, ‘Hummelo’ has glossy dark green foliage which remains attractive all season. Plant in a well drained area, with full to part sun. ‘Hummelo’ grows approximately 18 inches high and wide, and is rabbit and deer resistant. Great garden uses include containers, borders, mass plantings, and cut flowers. Besides being very easy to grow, ‘Hummelo’ is a versatile perennial and would be an impressive companion to just about anything in your garden.

The plants were packed so well. They looked healthy. I planted them the around a tree at a sunny location. They struggled in the beginning, because of our windy and cold spring weather, but they are settling just fine now and blooming.
    Very beautiful plant.

  2. Beth G

Unique leaf form and flowers. Very upright. Placed 3 along a path under my arbor…very eye catching.

  3. Lisa

Beautiful purple flowers that the bees adore. The flowers are held high above the foliage on stiff stems. I have them in a sunny location, exposed to wind. No staking is needed. Even with summer thunderstorms, the stems did not break. When in bloom, the plants reach 1-1/2 to 2 feet. The foliage by itself is about 1 foot tall and is an attractive clump before it starts blooming as well as after bloom and removal of the spent flower stalks. They seem to be in bloom for many weeks. I have a huge rabbit problem, but they did not touch this plant. They look nice in cut flower arrangements too. It’s just one of those plants that I really could not ask it to do more.

    Delicate & Pretty
I planted this plant last year in a somewhat shady area of my garden. It has returned this spring and is one of my favorite flowering plants! It is so delicate and pretty and easy to grow. No special care seems to be required and it is pest free. This plant will not disappoint!
