(Hebe) 'Wild Romance' Hebe is a tender shrub best suited for year round interest in zones 8-10. In colder climates Hebe 'Wild Romance' is a beautiful annual option. The fine foliage turns a deep red color in the fall and winter adding interest to your gardens. As the weather gets colder the color intensifies with the bright sun. In the summer each leaf has a dark green center surrounded by a bright green border, the leaves are edged in a rich plum color. In early summer, large blue flowers appear on this variegated evergreen shrub. 'Wild Romance' has the most intense coloring of the 3 Proven Winners® Hebe selections. It forms a 24 to 30 inch tall mound when planted in the ground. Another 'annual' option would be to use this in a container combination. 'Wild Romance' is best suited in a full sun location and is a deer proof variety. Hebe can be trimmed to shape after they are finished flowering. A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Shrub Variety.
