New Jersey Tea

Sometimes called California Lilac, native New Jersey Tea is an attractive compact shrub with glossy foliage and clusters of flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer. In hues of pink and blue, its versatile showy flowers are attractive in the formal garden and the prairie meadow, New Jersey Tea grows best in well-drained soil with full sun to part shade, and is drought tolerant once established. It is a larval food source for the mottled Dusky-wing, and Spring Azure Butterfly and is a must for the butterfly garden. Loved by hummingbirds too, and deer resistant!
