Calling all hummingbirds! Indian Pink or Spigelia is a native North American perennial sought after by wildflower enthusiasts. Indian Pink grows naturally in either sun or part shade and although it can be grown in most soils, it prefers rich, moist soil with good drainage. It cannot tolerate standing water. Appearing in June above attractive, glossy-green, pointed leaves the striking red tubular blooms have a contrasting yellow interior that just draws in the hummingbirds. Use Indian Pink as a stunning addition to the mixed sun or shade border, or in a wildflower or native garden.
