Description

(Milkweed) Native Asclepias speciosa is a must-have perennial for attracting Monarch Butterflies to your garden. Showy Milkweed is a hardy perennial in zones 3-8, often found in fields or along creek banks. Standing 2-4 feet tall, Showy Milkweed features a sparingly branched plant with large leaves that are a perfect place for Monarch Butterflies to lay their eggs. Mid-summer light pink blooms appear, followed by large seedpods in the fall. Planted in full sun, Asclepias speciosa can acclimate in moist to dry locations. Milkweed is needed for the Monarch Butterfly to continue the circle of life. The leaves serve as a place for the Monarch Butterfly to lay their eggs. As the eggs hatch, the leaves become the food source for the caterpillars to grow and feed on. Plant a variety of Milkweed for a colorful oasis for the Monarch Butterfly.

My milkweed arrived in beautiful condition! I planted it on the edge of my property where it has lots of sun to thrive but can spread naturally as it likes to and feed monarch caterpillars.

Arrived in perfect condition. I planted 3 of them and decided to order 3 more. The ones I planted are growing fast, loving the sun and just waiting for Monarch Butterflies!
