- Mid Summer Blooms,
- Nice Foliage Texture,
- Sweet Fragrance
(Astilbe) Enjoy the billowy, raspberry pink blooms of Astilbe ‘Visions’. Astilbe is a great selection for part shade gardens. ‘Visions’ is a compact habit standing 14- 16 inches tall, and forms an upright mounding habit. The sweetly scented flowers emerge a peachy pink color and open up to fluffy raspberry pink plumes. The flowers sit atop bright green, heavily serrated foliage. Hardy in zones 4-9, ‘ Visions’ is part of the Chinensis family which means it can handle full sun to full shade growing locations. Also, ‘Visions’ is more drought tolerant than other Astilbe varieties. Moderate to moist soil conditions is what is recommended for best performance. Blooming mid to later summer, Astilbe is a deer and rabbit resistant perennial. ‘Visions’ would be a great addition to a part shade woodland garden, used as a border, or planted in mass. Enjoy the fragrant blooms indoors as a cut flower, or hang them for dry flower arrangements. If you haven’t had a chance to add astilbe to your garden, now is a perfect time.
