(Barberry) The first of its kind STERILE Barberry bush. After many years of research and testing Barberry SUNJOY MINI MAROON® was born. It is proven to be rust resistant which can sometimes be a problem with some of the older non thunbergii Barberry shrubs. SUNJOY MINI MAROON® is a cute and compact variety standing only 1 foot tall and 2 foot wide creating a flat mounding habit. The deep burgundy foliage is lined with a light green margin for added interest. Planted in full sun is where SUNJOY MINI MAROON® takes on its best coloration. A nice choice for borders, specimens or foundation plantings, SUNJOY MINI MAROON® adds a spot of color from spring through fall. Trimming is generally not necessary, but if you feel you need to we recommend trimming in the fall or spring. Barberry are a very deer resistant variety, yet attract the songbirds with its tiny red fall/winter berries. Barberry SUNJOY MINI MAROON® is a PROVEN WINNERS® COLORCHOICE® Flowering Shrub.
