Crowning Glory® 'Purple Reign' Pineapple Lily (Eucomis)
- Tropical Look,
- Great Foliage, Summer Flowers,
- Tender Perennial Zone 6
Description
(Pineapple Lily) Add a slice of the tropics to your perennial garden. Eucomis Crowning Glory® 'Purple Reign' features upright pinkish purple flower spikes that resemble pineapples when they bloom late summer - early fall. Standing 18-20 inches tall and 24 inches wide, the burgundy foliage adds additional interest to the garden. Be patient, Crowning Glory® 'Purple Reign' (much like a hardy hibiscus) is late to emerge in the spring. Hardy in zones 6-9, Eucomis like to be planted in full sun to part shade locations in moist, rich, well-drained soil. This easy-to-grow plant makes a great cut flower and has attractive foliage. Enjoy the butterflies as they visit your garden. Crowning Glory® 'Purple Reign' is a tender perennial, we recommend planting in a protected area if you are in the north. A great selection for the front of the garden or in containers. Eucomis Crowning Glory® 'Purple Reign' is a member of the Proven Winners® Perennial Collection.
